Ryan and Jill invited me into their home to document their sweet baby girl, Harper, and it was everything a lifestyle newborn session should be — tender, unhurried, and filled with quiet wonder. Odie, of course, stayed close by, gently weaving himself into the moments as if he understood just how important this new role would be.
Watching Ryan and Jill step so naturally into parenthood was a gift. The way Ryan cradled Harper in his hands. The way Jill instinctively swayed, whispering softly to calm Harper. There’s a softness that settles over new parents — equal parts awe and protectiveness — and it filled every room.
Harper, sweet girl, was perfection in the smallest details.
Her tiny feet curled beneath her.
The gentle smile that spread when she settled into sleep.
Those quiet little coos that make time stand still.
And her hands — so small — wrapping around her parents’ fingers. Grasping tightly now, knowing that one day those same hands will grow and slowly begin to fill theirs.
Lifestyle newborn sessions aren’t about perfection. They’re about presence. The way the light falls across the nursery. The couch where you’ll spend countless feeding sessions. The ordinary spaces that suddenly feel extraordinary because she is there.
Ryan and Jill, you wear “Mom” and “Dad” so beautifully. Harper is already so deeply loved!
