I had the absolute joy of photographing the Frans family at Millennium Park in Walker, MI. Aliyah, Daniel, and their two sweet boys, Gabriel and Elias, braved the intense heat we’ve had this summer in Michigan to create memories that will last a lifetime! As a West Michigan family photographer, I know the importance of capturing the real, candid moments that reflect a family’s personality. Typically, we snag a few posed images as well which offers a robust gallery of images to select from, and share with extended family (think grandparents for instance!).
Like many kids, Gabriel and Elias were a little shy at first (something moms of littles know all too well). But with the promise of fruit snacks — and my own antics that may or may not have involved stomping like a dinosaur and roaring loudly — the boys quickly warmed up! Let’s just say if you ever see me making dinosaur noises at the park… yes, you ABSOLUTELY did! I’ll do just about anything to encourage genuine smiles. The laughter and energy that followed were pure magic — the kind of authentic moments that make a family photo session feel less like work and more like play…for everyone involved!
This season of life is especially meaningful for the Frans family, as they eagerly await the arrival of baby girl this fall. We made sure to highlight this exciting chapter by capturing some tender moments with Aliyah’s growing bump. These are the little details that make documenting family stories so important — each image becomes a part of a family’s legacy.
Located just outside of Grand Rapids, Millennium Park is a top contender for family photo locations in West Michigan. From the tree-lined paths to the wide-open spaces, it provides endless opportunities for variety in your gallery. The park’s natural beauty makes it especially appealing for parents who want timeless images of their children (without worrying about props or elaborate setups).
If you’re a mom looking for family photography in Grand Rapids, Caledonia, Middleville, or the surrounding areas, Millennium Park is a spot worth considering for your next session.
The Frans family session is a reminder of why I love what I do: capturing images for West Michigan families because honest moments are worth preserving. Whether your children are shy, energetic, or somewhere in between, my goal is to create an experience that feels effortless for parents and fun for kids!
If you’re ready to update your family portraits or celebrate a milestone, I’d love to work with you. You can learn more about my sessions here or get in touch today.
