Sometimes a session leaves me speechless — and the Buchholz family did exactly that. Mom, Dad, Sawyer, and Juniper met me at Johnson Park in Walker, MI, and while their chosen spot was nothing more than a small pull-off along the side of the river, the images we created together were nothing short of stunning.

What may have seemed like an underwhelming location to most appealed to my eye as an unexpected and overlooked magical backdrop. The trust this family extended to me meant everything — they shared faith my vision, and together we uncovered beauty in the unexpected.

Of course, the magic wasn’t just in the scenery. Sawyer and Juniper’s adventurous spirits and glowing personalities brought every image to life. Whether they were laughing, exploring, or simply being their fun-loving selves, their energy shines through in every frame!

Between offering Smarties in-between images and fruit snacks to close the session out, there was no shortage of smiles from the kids.
