As moms, we spend so much time behind the camera — snapping images of our kids’ milestones, capturing everyday smiles, and making sure the memories are preserved. But too often, we aren’t in the images ourselves. As a West Michigan Family Photographer, and a Momma myself, I’m behind the lens majority of the time but I make it a priority to create intentional space to capture images with my son.
That’s where Motherhood Sessions come in. These sessions are designed to celebrate the unique, powerful, and tender bond between a mom and her child(ren). Whether your little one is still a baby in your arms or a toddler with endless energy, these photos freeze the magic of this season in time.

Motherhood isn’t just about milestones — it’s about the in-between. The way your child clings to you, the giggles during tickle fights, or how they insist on matching outfits (like Tiffany and Eva did during their Waterfront Park session). These fleeting moments become preserved keepsakes when photographed with intention.
Stress-Free & Kid-Friendly Sessions
If you’ve ever worried about your child being “too little” or “too wiggly” for photos, let me reassure you: kids are kids — and that’s perfect. With patience, a playful approach, and maybe even a few snacks, I create sessions that feel natural, fun, and stress-free. (The Buchholz family session is a great example of this!)
Timeless, Authentic Images
My goal with every motherhood session is to deliver images that feel timeless, not overly posed. When you look back years from now, I want you to remember exactly how your child looked at you, laughed with you, or snuggled into your arms in this season of life.
When to Book a Motherhood Session
There’s no “perfect age” for motherhood photos. These sessions are meaningful whether your baby is 6 months, 6 years, or somewhere in between. The important thing is to not wait — time passes quickly, and each stage is worth remembering.
